I went out, to a shop, and bought things. Yippee!

I went for breakfast at the oddly named Clio Lounge – excellent breakfast, with sublime smoked bacon. Great pot of tea.

Then I went to Marks and Spencers for food, since I knew I have a gift card which had been unused for well over a year. Bought some nice things to eat which will keep me going until Tesco deliver on Saturday.

So a good morning. Would have been better without the rain, but ho-hum.

The other mild irritation was that my contactless thingy on my debit card didn’t work on the bus. Or in the restaurant, so I’m currently on the phone to my bank to get it sorted out. Arriva buses prefer contactless, which I’m sure is more convenient for them.

Smokey did a sterling job of guarding the house. Which is lovely and clean thanks to the efforts of Mandy, my new cleaner.

So that’s me. How are you?

I'm busy as a beaver with overhauling the library room. Today the carpenter called me, he will be in early on Wednesday 26th and put up the shelves, the cabinets, and the bedframe. The very big worktable (a whole wall long, about 3 metres), will follow a few days later: As the capstone (captable?) of the whole thing it needs to be made to the measurements *after* everyhing else is installed.

Also, the gyms will open tomorrow, and the public pool the day after tomorrow. I'll have to see that I can grab a ticket to the pool, they are limited.

In other news, it's still a bit fresh and windy at best, cold and shower-y at worst, and it changes between one and the other at least three times a day. This is not typical as far from the sea as this place is. Oh well, I don't like hot weather anyway.

If it stays halfway dry, I might have the opportunity to go out and eat something other than my own cooking or takeout. I'm looking forward to it very much.

Too bad that you're not closer! I bought a simple table for home office two years ago, and won't need it anymore. I hope there's a similary scarity of tables here, so that it won't linger in my cellar for years.
