Jeremy Hardy has died

Jeremy Hardy has died. I had been vaguely wondering why I hadn’t heard him on the radio recently, but it seems he was suffering from cancer.

He will be much missed. I have his “Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation” on download, and listen to them from time to time. As a socialist, he was a fellow-traveller (or more likely, I’m a fellow traveller of his), and I very much enjoyed hearing what he had to say.

I also loved hearing him on “I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue” where his inability to sing was legendary. So very funny.

There are other comedians I kept my ears open for (Andy Hamilton, Marcus Brigstocke, Mitch Benn) but Jeremy was a favourite. I’ll miss him.
