Last month my washing machine went belly up and had to be repaired. This month it's my cooker. Let's hope they can repair that - it's nine years old.

On the plus side, they're still selling that model. On the minus side, when they come to see it I don't even know where it's plugged in.

And they can't come until Friday. I foresee a lot of takaways in my future.

Sigh.

ETA: I managed to fix it myself, having remembered where the plug is. It was the fuse - the appliance does not work if the electricity is not working. This is the second fuse I've had go in as many months, which is a bit worrying.

EFTA: Not fixed after all. If you put a new fuse in it pretends to be fixed, right up until you try to use the thing. Once you try to turn the oven on, the fuse blows again. So I'll have to reinstate the visit from the repair guys.

That sounds like a very good reason for not even looking. Particularly since the oven has a nasty habit of igniting and promptly going out - I can see this if I do it with the barbecue lighter, I wouldn't necessarily notice if I was relying on the piezo thingy.
