Smokey update: more good news.

When we went to bed, she’d done a 💩 about 6cm and had eaten most of her food.

This morning she’d done about 3cm more 💩 and had eaten the rest of yesterday’s food.

This despite the fact that I didn’t manage to put the medication on her ear because I couldn’t catch her. She can run faster than me, and can hide under the couch. I won’t medicate her when she’s on my lap as I don’t want her to lose trust in me.

This morning she’s eaten quite a few mouthfuls of food.

I don’t think she’s quite out of the woods yet, her behaviour is still a bit off, but she’s getting there.

Meanwhile, I feel vaguely sick most of the time. I think it’s stress.

That's definitely sounding good. Keep going Smokey. Has she got to have a follow up appointment at the vet, or can you discuss any concerns on the phone?
Hope your stress starts to reduce too. You have my heartfelt sympathy, whenever one of mine is unwell my stress symptoms soar. If only we could speak Cat...

I can discuss any concerns on the phone, and if the vet needs to see her they'll let me know.

That sounds very civilised. Just read the most recent update & it certainly sounds like she's over the worst. Onwards and upwards, Smokey!

Is this the in-ear-medication that should better her appetite and which has a list of warnings and cautions that you'd think it was some highly radioactive stuff?

I found it easy to give (once I got over the warnings) because my cats very much like to have their ears massaged and are used to it.

Yes, this is that kind of medication. Smokey doesn't like having hear ears touched so giving the medication to her is a bit difficult.
