I just listened to the Radio 4 consumer show “You and Yours” and it was fascinating. It was about strikes and strike action and the presenter got more and more irritated as caller after caller said (and I precis), “Yes, strikes are a menace and they get in my way, but I’m 100% behind the strikers because they’re simply not paid enough and the managers and business owners are taking the piss with their high wages.” She really had what we call the ‘hump’ by the end of the show.

In other news, my cat is a darling but life is increasingly hard as prices go up. It could be worse, though. I have many friends who are worse off than me.

We're balloting in a couple of weeks. I think it's highly likely we'll be going out, and even more likely that the Daily Heil tells its readership that we are grossly overpaid as it is. (In my small corner there is a significant number of the workforce on minimum wage.)

Where I worked there were people on minimum wage, too. I thought it shameful that the government paid some of it's staff so badly they had to claim benefits.
