The latest news is kind of OK – I went to see my anaesthetist on Tuesday and he asked me a lot of questions about my previous medical history. He said that his main concerns are my weight (no surprise there) and my blood sugar levels (again, no surprise there). He accepts that I can’t do much about my weight in a very short time, but asked that I work to get my blood sugar levels down to an acceptable level. This I will try to do.
Having sorted that out, he is to write to my surgeon, and they will set a date for the lumpectomy, probably some time in the next eight weeks. This is because the various tests they’ve done (bloods, ECG) will have to be done again if the operation isn’t done in eight weeks as they have some kind of shelf life. Weird, but there you go.
I’m carefully not reading the internet about breast cancer, because if I do that I get frightened. I’m frightened enough already, without that.
At least one person has been in touch telling me I could cure my breast cancer with herbs. That person got short shrift.

I’m still glad I moved to Wales – even hospital appointments are more fun if there’s lovely scenery to look at.
Smokey is still a lovely sweet kitty. She turned 15 on the 17 September, so is definitely an older kitty now.

The person I know who recovered from breast cancer used everything the NHS was willing to throw at it, and lived a long life thereafter. (Dead now, but many years after op, and not of cancer.)
God Bless Smokey - she's there for you when you need her most.

I'm personally glad you posted about this; it reminded me that I'd not remade the appointment that was cancelled in March 2020. For me it was clear; may you have the same news soon.

Glad it served a purpose. I'm reminding all my friends to go to their scans and check ups, you never know what they might find.

I don't believe Smokey is 15. Not for one moment. I mean, she was only 9 last year, wasn't she?

Smokey was six when I got her in 2013. She's my baby girl.
