It is so hot I keep sticking to my desk. I wish that, in my country, we had heard of air conditioning in homes. This is the first time I’ve really wished that I was back in the office – our office has aircon.

In other news, I think Smokey is wishing she could take off her fur. She seems to be searching for a cool place in the flat, which has none.

My cats like to lie on damp towels when it is too hot, maybe worth a try for Smokey?

If you have a fan, put a damp towel over your head (or neck, or shoulders) and sit in the moving air path. Wet socks on your feet.

Also, put ice cubes to melt, or just cold refrigerator water in Smokey's water dish.

I will take that advice, especially as regards Smokey's water dish. Poor baby.
