RIP, Terry Pratchett.

I met him in the 1990s at a convention in Liverpool. He was a lovely man, very approachable and chatty, and we talked about writing until he was late for his reading. His sense of humour wasn't always mine, though I read a lot of his books, I wasn't sure I was the audience they were intended for.

I was sad to hear he'd got Alzheimers, and every more saddened today to hear he'd passed on.

Having said that, I gather he died at home, surrounded by his family and with his cat asleep on his bed. Death doesn't get much better than that.
