Not long ago I installed one of those programs which is supposed to keep your computer tickety-boo. Bad news, because it doesn't do anything of the kind. What it does do is keep stripping the drivers out, so that now I'm left reinstalling them one by bloody one using proprietary software for the purpose.
Currently my sound is back (which is good), but my graphics are all bollocksed up - the screen is at it's lowest resolution and the colour likewise. Reinstalling the driver is what is recommended, but does not seem to work. I have now tried it five times.
I've been around computers one way and another since about 1991 and sometimes the only comment I have on why it's doing what it's doing is that the bloody thing is possessed.
