I read today on the Redemption community that Gareth Thomas passed away yesterday from heart failure.

He was such a fine actor and a great raconteur. I was lucky enough to meet him when running the Who's 7 conventions in the 90's and he never disappointed the fans. Such a genuine man.

I'm listening to Blake's 7. I did some ripping of DVD's and I've put it on Plex.

I'd forgotten how good the first series was - remembering all the witty one-liners there were, how well put together the scripts were for the time. Just great.

In computer news, Microsoft techs spent another day on my computer today and it's almost fixed. Windows is working fine, my only remaining problem is that I can't send emails using Outlook, but I may decide to keep Turnpike as I like the way it works.

I also need one of my programs setting to this user, as to restore my computer M$ had to set me up as a new user and several of my programs are user-specific. None require further payment (so far) but keeping copies of the installation numbers has once again proved handy.

"I mock with affection. In fact, this was superior drama performed by consummate professionals who made it believable by being 100 per cent committed to the material."

Once you get past the piss take bit, an interesting article. It seems the original Liberator model just sold on eBay for £33,000.

In other genre news, a first edition of the Hobbit just sold for £137,000.
