[personal profile] aunty_marion and I went to see "The Battle of Five Armies" today at Leicester Square. Enjoyed it, but the copy they had suffered from a periodic fault, which meant weird colours flashed across it and it went out of focus. You could watch it, but it was odd, to say the least. So we got a free ticket out of them for any film in the future.

As for the "Battle of Five Armies", there was a battle and it had five armies in it. It was as described.

That's what I'm afraid of.

Sigh. I know I am obligated to see this movie once. I so wish it was more than as described. Is the dragon featured? He's the only thing I liked in the last one.

The dragon is featured, and performs more-or-less as written in the book, allowing for cinematic exaggerations.

As I remarked else-net, Rocks Fell, Everybody Died (everybody who we expected to die, anyway).

Just seen it. As I said to G afterwards, Jackson is very good at letting you know when it's a good time to go to the loo.

Was amused by unexpected slash pairing and also by a very familiar voice on screen (who I was not expecting) yelling exactly what I was thinking for their first line.

Still, the bingo card is easy to write and I sincerely hope Sir Christopher Lee is stoutly maintaining he did all his own stunts. He probably did.
