Someone else mecurtin? was talking about what temperature people have their heating on in winter.

I have control-gizmo on my phone which controls my heating, it's called Hive. It allows me to set the temperature on the heating to change up to six times a day.

So, it's at 21°C from 06:30 to 08:30, 18°C from 08:30 to 12:00, 7°C from 12:00 to 16:30, 21°C from 16:30 to 21:30, and 7°C from 21:30 to 06:30. I'm not sure if that's wise or if I'd do better to have it the same temperature all day.

I'm in two minds. What do people think?

Sudden death of a friend

I’ve just read that my friend and occasional political opponent Howard Fuller died today. I hope this isn’t true. If it is, I’ll miss him, despite our spats.

Please let me have misunderstood.

Edited to add: I didn’t misunderstand, the news has been confirmed by his partner, Anita.

I met Howie when we were both members of the Inner London PTC Branch Committee. That was in around 1995.

We often disagreed politically, but I respected him as a tireless worker for the union. RIP, Howie.

May his memory always be a blessing. It will be to me.
