[community profile] flashslash #103 set 1

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009 05:46 pm
As per usual, my semi-original universe. This time they wanted to talk. Flashslash #103 set 1

Set 1 hasty bandage dominate/domination flap

"I don't want you to run my life," David looked stubborn. He leaned forward, the carriage moved slowly through the dark streets and he was trying to see out beyond the flap which covered the windows.

"And that's not my intention. I'm sorry if you thought that," James shook his long red hair out of his eyes and tied it up with a ribbon.

David watched, enviously. His own hair resisted growing long enough for a queue. He looked at the bandage around James's arm, "My apologies for the trouble you ended up in. I shouldn't have gone after him like that."

"No, you shouldn't. But I can hardly complain as it was exactly what I would have done." James looked as if he hadn't entirely wanted to admit that. "I am worried, though, anyone would be who'd met your guardians."

"I didn't know you had."

"My father is a member of Parliament; of course he's met Lord Yellerton. I don't think they're ever going to be the best of friends, but I suppose we shouldn't be too hasty."

David laughed, "Has Uncle Richard got any friends?"

"Oh, quite a few. He dominates the Conservative cause and I would imagine that they're friends as well as political allies. Though I could be paying them too much of a compliment."

"I wish it wasn't necessary for me to have guardians. In most societies I'd be seen as a grown man."

"But not in this one. Even father complains about the tendency of young men these days to see themselves as adult when by our rules they're not, and he blames the influence of the Intergalactic Navy every bit as much as Lord Yellerton. The difference between them is that Lord Yellerton would run the Navy out of the sector if he could, and father knows that's simply not possible."

"Politics!"

"Yes. Why, do you have difficulties with it? If so, I'd get over it quickly because it's going to dominate your life no matter what you think."
