The area I live in is covered by an “amber” warning for rain and wind. It’s not currently raining, but the wind is howling round the house, and whipping up the waves in the bay. Opal is cuddling up to me - I don’t think she likes the noise.

I would like to knit or play Baldur’s Gate 3, but Opal won’t tolerate me not cuddling her. Ho hum.

The weather is literally howling outside my windows.

Any moment now a stranger will arrive and Catherine Earnshaw will tap on the windows and I will have to tell a story of love, loss and hopelessness.

It has rained all day here in Wales – for most of the day horizontal rain, and maybe even some sleet.

So, come 4pm, I decide that I’m going to have to put the bins out on the pavement for tomorrow, in case I forget later on. It is still, at this point, pissing it down.

I come back inside and have to change my top, as it got soaked.

Within ten minutes, the rain had stopped and the sun came out.

Life wouldn’t be any fun otherwise, would it?

I've been a bit worried about my friends over there on the east coast of the US, but I can't see anyone who hasn't checked in. Or maybe I've not seen them and not drawn a conclusion. Erk.

In other news

I had a very pleasant weekend and played AD&D with my gaming friends, in which we moved a very small step forward in our Saxon campaign. I do keep losing track of who's who with that - it's very difficult to keep in mind who's who when people are called Aethelbert and Ulfric. It's almost as a bad as ancient Egyptians where everyone's name ends in 'hotep'.

I then met gloria1 for breakfast on Sunday, which was as much fun as always.

People in countries where it really snows will be laughing, but...it's snowing. In London.

Snow sucks. I loved it as a child, and obviously part of that excitement lingers, but really it's disruptive, cold and not much fun.
