The weather here is kind of odd. The tops of the mountains are covered with snow, but Bangor is close to sea level and if there is snow here it's not sitting, but I don't think there is. There might be sleet.

[personal profile] aunty_marion went home today after Christmas and New Year celebrated with me. We had a splendid time. The three bird roast was a bit dry, and I will try to get a chicken next year, and in June when she visits again.

It was 35C here over the weekend. I can share some heat, but no snow.

Glad you had a nice Christmas and New Year!

Thank you for having me! (So to speak...) I didn't think the turducken was TOO dry, but it did say to baste with the juices, and as I recall, there weren't any. I think perhaps we should have added a knob of butter and/or a splash of water while it was under the foil. But I had a lovely relaxing time, and nothing had broken/broken-down when I got home (and I've claimed on Delay-Repay!); and the council have given me £300 (!) Household Support, which is nice, as my 'income' is too high to get the government Winter Fuel Allowance. I've split the gift card from the council between M&S and Sainsbury's, & used some of the Sainsbury's part yesterday.

And Avanti DelayRepay have coughed up £40.55! Getting home too late to get any food in or manage the usual Monday knit-group online chat was not fun, but at least I'm a little bit better off. And that paid for both taxis to/from home.
