Happy New Year to everyone!
The change to my telephone and broadband seem to have happened flawlessly so far. The new telephone number (landline) seems to work, and the new broadband modem has picked up service without a hiccup. I even managed to plug it all in with no problems – and there are fewer wires to trip over.
Smokey is lying on her radiator hammock like a melted cat. She loves that hammock. I’ve been considering buying her one of those squishy cat beds, but I think it would be a waste of money.

And, cat beds in general are a waste of money, since cats I know have preferred: (a) dirty laundry, (b) clean laundry, (c) the floor at a doorway (preferably to the bathroom), (d) my pillow, to the cunningly appointed and perfectly shaped basket-bed that came with the cats. I have even furnished it with some clean laundry, but no dice. The radiator hammock sounds lovely, and I wish I had one for myself.

I have two cat beds set up right next to each other on top of a wide short bookcase with a nice ultra-soft throw arranged over both beds so each bed has a warm "nest" in it. I frequently have two cats sleeping there - two cats who otherwise can't stand the presence of the other one.
