I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's Parker ...she likes money and cereal." I'd love it if everyone who's friended me did this. (Yes, even you people who I know really well.) Then post this in your own journal. In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer.

I don't actually remember this, of course. But it makes a good story. And apparently the Holiday Inn is a terrible place for would-be child abductors, because they locked down the building lickety-split, at no small inconvenience to other guests.

I'm also the only person in my house that our dog has never bitten.

Here's an example, though, just so you can see what I mean. The original of REM's "Losing Your Religion" on youtube, which is in a minor key, and then a version that someone used some kind of technology to alter so that it was in a major key.
What I like is stuff that goes the opposite direction, but this is a cool example in that it isn't a cover, so there's absolutely no difference in the performance to distract from the difference in the music itself.

From Enterprise Florida, I work in the Commercial Insurance Industry (dredfully boring, but pays well enough) and enjoy a lovely cup of tea in the evening. My tea of choice is Boston Tea Party Tropic Orange and Spice (truly it is called Boston Tea Party).

I hear you about tea, though my tea of choice is English breakfast.

I was looking for work in the late 80's, and was signing on to collect unemployment benefit, when my 'signing officer' said, "Oh, you have qualifications, apply for this job or I'll stop your money." The job was in the benefits office on the other side of the road, as a casual. So, I applied and got the job. Initially this was for 6 weeks, which was extended to 8.
Time passed and I was contacted by them to become a short term member of staff on what was a fixed term contract of a year. So I took that job.
While I was there, they said, "Apply to join as a direct entrant manager - you have good qualifications." So I did, and had to do an exam. I passed the exam, but only if I was prepared to work in London. (My arithmetic stinks!) So I moved to London. And I'm still here, and still with the civil service.
