I have adopted a new kitty; her name is Opal and she's 14 months old.
She has a broken pelvis, so is in cage rest until it knits together. We don't know how it happened, she was like this when she came, pregnant, to the cat rescue in Anglesey. I suspect abuse, but I have no proof of that. I don't know how long she'll be in cage rest - it could be a month, it could be three, it could be longer.
This little cat has been through a lot in her short life, but she's an absolute diamond. She must be in pain but hasn't attempted to bite, scratch or even hiss at me or my house guest Julian. And Julian isn't as used to handling cats as I am.

Julian came up for our gaming weekend, which went well. But Julian caught Covid so hasn't been able to travel back to London. We're both hoping he will leave on Tuesday.
ETA: Smokey is mostly upstairs keeping out of Opal's way, but I give her extra scritches and cuddles when I go up and at bedtime she gets special treats.

She does sound lovely. I hope her pelvis knits well.
Do you know how old she is?

She's 14 months. So she's been through a lot for such a young cat.

I'm very glad you paid for the x-ray. Charities have been really badly hit by the economic downturn. I must get around to increasing some of my monthly donations...
