Someone who's a Skype expert...which calls are free and which are not?

I have 60 mins of free Skype with my Office 365 subscription, but I understand that some Skype calls are free anyway. So what's with the charging thing?

Calls to other Skype users are free. Calls to real-world telephones (mobile or landline) cost money, although I think at local rates.

Ah, right, thank you! Their webpages drivel on about all sorts of things, but never say that.

Skype to Skype is free. That's standard video chat, a la most modern IM apps. (What happens on the internet, stays on the internet.) Skype to a phone has associated phone rates. That's "voice over IP", using it as a phone.
