Playstation issue (probably) solved

I've solved my PS3 issue, I think.

And guess what it turned out to be? The extension cable. Swapped that out and it's been right as rain since. Long may it continue.

Ah... sounds like my buying a new low-energy bulb for the desklight last week because it had stopped working, and then, when that didn't work either, finding that it was merely that the plug had come very slightly out of the socket...
