I lost two great uncles in the war on my father's side. I suspect some died on my mother's side, but her dad was one of around 20 children (widower with kids married widow with kids and had more), so we we couldn't keep in touch with all of them - though my mother used to take us to visit half a dozen or so whenever we were in Somerset!
