Kitty diet plan

I took Smokey to the vet, and Good News, she is in fine fettle for a cat of her age. Yippee.

Bad News, she is 5.9kg but should only be 4.5. That means she’s put on nearly a kilo since she was last weighed in 2019. She will have to go on a kitty diet and exercise plan – less cat food, fewer treats, more running about. Poor, poor kitty.

The vets are good, further away from where I live than my vets in London, but much, much cheaper and friendlier. I did have to wait outside, though, they are not allowing anyone in the surgery.

We are also going to have to re-start all her vaccinations because it is so long since we saw a vet – nearly three years. So she has a follow-up appointment in three weeks. Which will not make me popular as she hates the carrying basket.

I remember when you first brought her home. I'm really glad she's in fine health.

Poor kitty. They do hate the basket when is time to go to the vets, but treat it as a refuge when they want to come home.
We had a very round kitty who got to the point that she couldn't clean herself. She really liked the cat diet biscuits though, to the point of refusing anything else.😺

Could you interest her in hunt-the-kibble games?
It's my cats' second favourite game (after "keep human from working in Home Office").
