I'm OK. Honestly. I've decided to have a mastectomy of my left breast, and the operation is scheduled for 6 January. A friend is going to come up to visit me at Christmas and she's agreed, very kindly, to stay until 13 January, meaning there's going to be someone to look after me once I've had the op.
Smokey is in good health, and is a sweet kitty, if not massively cuddly.
All my issues are minor ones - I had a blocked toilet, for which I had to get a plumber at an eye-watering cost, but he also threw in fixing a radiator which hadn't worked since I moved here, so that was good. Then yesterday two of my smoke alarms started to make that irritating beep which means the battery is due to run out, but when I asked on FaceBook for a neighbour to come and rescue me from the beep, two offered and it was fixed in a trice. I'm really lucky in my neighbours.
I could live without Storm Barra, but that seems to have mostly passed over Wales in any case.
So that's me, really.
