Update

On April 30th [livejournal.com profile] gloria1 and I went for my birthday tea at the St Pancras Hotel - I totally recommend it, the tea was brilliant, the scones warm, the sandwiches toothsome and the cakes excellent.

So that was good.

On the way home, though, I fell down a short flight of stairs at Kings Cross and was taken to University College Hospital in an ambulance. I mean, how embarrassing and ouchy. I don't recommend it as a hobby as I fell down at 17:30 and didn't get home until 23:00 (UCH are very thorough and they wouldn't let me go until they were sure I could climb stairs). I was lucky that [livejournal.com profile] gloria1 was there as I don't know how I'd have managed if I'd been alone.

Since then I've spent my time pottering about the flat watching my bruises turn green.

*sympathies*

I fell over in the bathroom a few weeks ago - and my right wrist (which I jarred by putting it out to catch myself) is still hurting and needing weekly physio treatments.

(and my mother fell down some stairs and broke her collarbone and needed steel pins, so, I am very glad you didn't break anything!)

Yikes! Glad you're okay. I fell down the last three or so stairs at my brother's two and a half years ago, and I can still feel it in my hip it sometimes seems. The bruises at the time were pretty astonishing. The one on my hip was so impressive it was a couple of days before I even noticed I also had one on my arm. (And as the former was healing it became uncomfortable to have a waistband against it. I hope you're spared that particular difficulty.)

Ouch. Just got back home from a month wandering on cobbles and wet marble. I must have fallen at least once a week. My feet and/or the cane are not particularly steady. Fortunately I'm well padded and a experienced faller (blech). But I do feel your pain and bruises and embarrassment. Also I recommend arnica gel, helps heal the bruises and serves as a mild analgesic. Get better quickly!

I always read St Pancras as St Pancreas ;-) And yesterday was his day.

Happy ouchy birthday! Many non-ouchy returns! It sounds like a lovely tea.
