Update

Good news on the dental front – I haven't got to have any dental work done. All he did was 'tidy up' a filling on my front tooth which was staining. Let's see how that works out. I did get a lecture-ette about not going for two years.

He couldn't help with my dry mouth thing and has suggested I go back to my doctor about it. Which I will.

Ho hum.

Here via network, and I know that people hate suggestions (or at least I do), so I will ask first. Do you mind if I suggest something you may have already heard of that helped with my med-induced dry mouth?

What they said downthread, actually. I use Biotene's toothpaste, not the mouthwash, but I've heard good things about both.

ok. since you don't mind suggestions: I haven't a clue if this is available in the UK, but for dry mouth, I use a product called "Biotene". It's a relatively taste free product, I use it in the morning and evening when I brush my teeth as a mouthwash.

:-) Not just me!
They do a toothpaste, alcohol-free mouthwash, moisturizing chewing gum, moisturizing spray (da bomb), and gel for really, really dry mouth.

The dry mouth is probably a medication side-effect. Read the info sheets for everything you're taking at present.
